Surrounded by 40 acres of beautiful farmland, this rustic yet contemporary barn conversion could not be better placed for a family escape to the countryside. Cast off from the grounds and try a spot of fishing, or visit the food markets and festivals in nearby Abergavenny. You will also find some of the area’s best walking routes from your doorstep, with the Offa’s Dyke pathway leading you deep into the Welsh countryside.

The exposed A-frame with fully glazed windows on either side of the barn floods it with light and means you can make the most of the incredible Black Mountain views whatever the time of day. Original features, like the white-washed stone wall and exposed beams, have been sympathetically restored, mixing well with the modern furnishings for a unique take on country living. The lounge is an excellent space for entertaining, with a crackling wood burner and cosy corner sofa, while the patio is the perfect spot for your morning coffee with a view.

Enjoy a short stroll into Longtown, renowned for its village store and 12th century Norman Castle, which lies less than 400 metres from the property, or head to the market towns of Crickhowell in the Usk Valley (16.5 miles) and Hay-on-Wye (12 miles) with its eclectic range of bookshops. Make the most of the Herefordshire countryside and follow the Great Cider Route, which will see you take in the bittersweet apples and breathtaking scenery in Ross-on-Wye (22.5 miles), Leominster (30 miles), and other local towns and villages. And, of course, no visit is complete without exploring the Black Mountains, part of the Brecon Beacons National Park; the extensive Hatterall Ridge lies 1 mile west of Longtown, and the Black Hill 2 miles north.
